This year's event will focus on "Possibilities of Design". The main venues are the Design Society at Sea World Culture and Arts Center in Shekou as well as the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Museum of Urban Planning.

During the 10-day event, over 1,000 designers from 25 countries will gather in Shenzhen and showcase over 2,500 designs and host 65 activities in areas such as fashion and construction.

The event will feature numerous Italian designers along with their designs, with Italy being selected as Guest of Honor. April 22nd has been selected as the event's Italian Day and will feature activities revolving around the interpretation of avant-garde design works at the Italian pavilion. Highly-acclaimed Italian design schools, including Nuova Accademia di Belle Milano, will also participate.
