The 2018 China-New Zealand Film Festival was unveiled at an opening ceremony held at Ordos Grand Theater in Kangbashi district, Ordos, on April 18.

The festival was organized by Kangbashi district’s publicity department, the district’s tourism authority, Ordos Grand Theater and Ordos Film Association, with support from the city’s publication authority and the government of Kangbashi district.

At the festival, a total of 12 films from New Zealand were on display, including eight feature films and four short films, all of which have been honored at international film festivals.

Since 1998, China has been conducting cultural exchanges with New Zealand through a yearly film festival, with Ordos playing host to the event for the first time.
