A concert was staged at Shengjing Grand Theatre in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on April 18, marking the opening of the seventh Chinese and foreign music and culture exchange festival.

Themed around the “Revitalization of Liaoning province and Shenyang”, the concert staged a series of songs created by Shenyang Conservatory of Music, showcasing the city’s recent changes.

Jointly hosted by Shenyang publicity department and the Shenyang Conservatory of Music, the music and culture exchange festival will last till June 20.

The event has been held a total of six times in Shenyang.

Ji Huibin, professor from Shenyang Conservatory of Music, said that the event is a significant platform for the world to learn China’s music culture, as well as a way for Shenyang residents to experience the arts.

During this year’s festival, artists from countries including the United States, Britain, Russia and Spain will join musicians from China’s 11 music academies, including the Central Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music, to hold more than 50 concerts and over 30 academic forums.

Music competitions, open classes, seminars, and other exchange activities will also be held during the festival.
