New robot provides legal services in Xixia

A legal service robot, the first of its kind in Henan province, was recently put into service at the Public Legal Service Center of Xixia county, Nanyang.

Not only can the robot provide 24-hour legal consulting services for residents, but can also assist in mediations, legal assistance, judicial authentication, dissemination of legal knowledge, notarization and community correction.

A voice recognition system and electronic screen allow the robot to interact with users by both voice and text. It will greatly improve the efficiency of the justice system and save people the hassle of looking for a lawyer.

The appearance of the legal service robot marked a significant step forward in the use of cutting-edge technologies in the legal field. In addition to the robot, the center has spent some 300,000 yuan ($47,990) equipping itself with high-definition television screens and touch query one machines.
