Dalian Seventh People's Hospital (Dalian Mental Health Center), set up in 1954, is the only municipal specialized hospital in the city focusing on the treatment of mental health.

Enjoying a longstanding history of over 60 years, the hospital covers a total area of 25,612 square meters, offering 900 patient beds.

There are 14 clinical departments and two outpatient departments in the hospital. Its medical department is equipped with outpatient department of psychiatry, outpatient department of psychiatry experts, outpatient department of the elderly, outpatient department of sleep disorders, outpatient department of psychological consultation and treatment, outpatient department of psychological experts, outpatient department of child psychology, acupuncture and moxibustion massage room, clinical laboratory, electric diagnosis, radiology, psychological testing room, MECT room, as well as a rehabilitation department. The medical laboratory of the hospital include drug and equipment department, B ultrasonic room, and electrocardiographic room.

The hospital currently employs 383 staff members and 58 of them hold senior titles. The hospital has advanced medical equipment including transcranial color doppler, fully automatic biochemical analyzer, color doppler ultrasonic diagnosis apparatus, electroencephalo-graph system, transcranial magnetic stimulation therapeutic apparatus, as well as biological feedback system.

The hospital has been engaged in the treatment and research of mental illness for more than 60 years. Over the years, it adopts domestic and international advanced diagnostic standards and treatment technology, thus the coincidence rate of diagnosis in mental illness remains above 98 percent, with the cure rate of schizophrenia of about 40 percent.
