Guangzhou University is a comprehensive university named after the third largest city in China. In 2000, several universities, including Guangzhou Normal College, South China Construction Institute, Guangzhou University, Guangzhou Education College and Guangzhou Normal Junior College, merged into the present Guangzhou University.
The university boasts a 90-year history and is a high-level university developing with support from the government of both the Guangdong province and the city of Guangzhou.
