Guangzhou First People's Hospital

Guangzhou First People's Hospital (the Second Affiliated Hospital of South China University of Technology, Guangzhou Digestive Disease Center, and the First affiliated Municipal People's Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University) is a large comprehensive hospital affiliated to the Guangzhou Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission. It is an important base of medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and health care for cadres in Guangzhou. Established in 1899, the hospital consists of a headquarters, Nansha hospital and Hedong branch hospital.

The facility (including the Nansha and Hedong hospitals) covers a ground area of 180,500 square meters and its medical service building area has floorage of 247,900 square meters with 2,490 inpatient beds. In 2017, 2,764,600 people received medical treatment at the hospital's outpatient and emergency departments and 87,500 people were discharged from the hospital in the same year. The hospital has 50 professional disciplines, of which the gastroenterology and geriatrics departments are national key clinical specialties.
