Jingjiu Railway connects with Hong Kong and Jingguang (Beijing-Guangzhou) Railways in Shenzhen. They combine China's inner provinces with Shenzhen and Hong Kong and provide convenient railroad transportation. Trains departing to many domestic cities, including Beijing, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Jiujiang, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Zhaoqing, Shaoguan, Maoming, Heyuan, Meizhou and Shantou, are available in Shenzhen. However, there is no direct train to Hong Kong.

There are three railway stations in Shenzhen, which are Shenzhen Railway Station (深圳火车站) and Shenzhen West Railway Station (深圳西站) and Shenzhen North Railway Station (深圳北站). Shenzhen Railway Station is located in the Luohu district (罗湖区), the most prosperous area in Shenzhen. About 50 pairs of trains depart daily from this station to other cities in China. The express trains running between Shenzhen and Guangzhou start here, and the Shenzhen-Guangzhou express trains have an independent ticket office and entrance. Passengers can take bus N2, N5, 7, 12, 17, 101, 102, 106, 205 or 206 to get to the station. Shenzhen West Railway Station is located at the junction of Yueliang Wan Avenue (月亮湾大道) and Xuefu Road (学府路), and about 20 trains arrive each day at the station. Most of these trains run from Shenzhen to Huaihua, Yueyang, Xinyang, Wuchang, Hefei and other cities. During the holidays, especially the Spring Festival holiday, the railway station is used as temporary station for many trains. Passengers can take bus 20, 31, 36, 229 or 234 to get to the station.
