Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute (hereinafter referred to briefly as YPI) is a full-time ordinary institution of higher vocational learning funded by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and supervised by Department of Education of Jiangsu Province. It is a Provincial Higher Vocational Institution of key construction in Jiangsu Province. YPI is located inside the beautiful Yangzijin Science and Education Park in Yangzhou, a famous historical cultural city which has been established for 2500 years and won the UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award. YPI has a picturesque campus, with beautiful landscapes and favorable academic atmosphere, being an ideal place to study and research an ideal place to study and research.

Scale of running School

There are over 10,000 students on campus, among whom over 330 are international students. With sources of students covering from the 21 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, YPI trains mainly three-year and full-time higher vocational students and aims to cultivate high-quality application-oriented graduates. At present 11 schools(departments) have been established, namely School of Chemical Engineering, School of Architects Engineer, School of Mechanical and Auto motive Engineering, School of Electrical and Information Engineering , School of Business Management, School of Architectural and Art Design, Department of Fundamental Science, Department of Social Science, Department of Physical education, School of Further Education and School of Overseas Education, with petrochemical and Architecture(including Nuclear Power Construction) as Characteristic specialities, YPI runs totally 38 different majors in Machinery Engineering, Automobiles, Electrical and Information Engineering, Business Management, and Art. All majors combined and developed harmoniously.

Level of Internationalization

YPI adheres to the concept of open education, having established friendly partnership with over 40 overseas institutions in the US, Canada, Korea, Australia, Portugal, the U.K., France, Germany, ASEAN, and Taiwan Regions. By means of implementing Sino-foreign cooperative educational program, faculty overseas research and study supporting plan, college students' overseas experience plan, YPI's International partnership mode covers joint educational program, faculty and students exchange for research and study, having initially former international exchange and cooperation of "Full-Scale, Multi-level and Broad-Range" structure.
