Guangxi Hechi Chemical Industry Group, a subsidiary of the China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina), has ascended to Guangxi's top 50 enterprises, China's top 500 chemical enterprises and China's top 100 fertilizer enterprises.
The group, previously known as Guangxi Hechi Nitrogen Fertilizer Factory, was founded in 1969 and began operating in 1976. In Dec 1999, the group was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, becoming the first listed enterprise in Guangxi's chemical industry and among all similar industries nationwide.
Due to a 90 percent improvement in its production system, the group has increased productivity and profits while reducing consumption and costs. Investments have also been made in capacity expansion and sewage and gas waste treatment.
The group is the largest urea producer in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, contributing over 50 percent of the total output. The "Qunshan" urea enjoys a favorable reputation in Guangxi and Southeast China and has been named one of Guangxi's most famous brands for 17 consecutive years. It has also been honored as one of China's top 10 urea brands.
