Guangzhou recruits intl consultants

As part of the ongoing 2018 Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference, a special seminar called "From open metropolis to global city: Invest in Guangzhou International Consultants Exchange" was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center at 11 am on March 28.

The long-awaited name list for the seventh session of "Invest in Guangzhou International Consultants" was released on site. On the list are a total of 29 distinguished business elites, such as E. Allan Gabor of Merck China, Yin Yuseoung of LG Display, Shang Huijie of Siemens China, Harley Seyedin of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, Peter Kung of KPMG China, and Fujisawa Noritaka of Mizuho Bank.

Founded in 2005, the "Invest in Guangzhou International Consultants" is a high-profile think tank that offers advice on Guangzhou's socioeconomic and industrial policies. It has introduced nearly 50 investment projects to the city.

Present at the seminar were the list of newly appointed consultants, representatives from around 50 Fortune Global 500 companies, executives of local key enterprises, and government officials including Chen Zhiying, vice-mayor of Guangzhou, and Chen Jie, director of the Guangzhou municipal commission of commerce.

Chen Jie made the keynote speech at the seminar. He called on international consultants to advise Guangzhou on its globalization endeavor. He also stressed Guangzhou's willingness to strengthen international cooperation in developing emerging industries and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area.

The seminar also hosted a panel discussion between six distinguished business people, who shared their thoughts and ideas on Guangzhou city and its globalization strategies.
