Ordos hits the road to attract tourists

The local tourism authority in Ordos, Inner Mongolia initiated another round of activities to promote its tourism attractions in different cities located in the Yangtze and Pearl river deltas, on March 25, according to a media report from the autonomous region.

Staff from the local tourism authority will visit 13 prosperous cities including Nanjing, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Suzhou and Xiamen, which are all seated in the two highly-developed delta regions, during the 10-day trip.

The promotional tour is in its third consecutive year. This time, the first stop of the tour was Foshan city in South China’s Guangdong province.

During the activities held for the tour, visitors will have opportunities to win gifts and view local cultural performances by different acts from Ordos.

According to statistics revealed by the local tourism authority, tourists from cities in China’s southeast coastal areas constitute a major part of the total number received by Ordos.

As a result, the city’s tourism authority has attached great importance to trying to attract more prospective visitors from these areas.
