Shenyang University of Technology

Shenyang University of Technology is a multi-disciplinary university integrating schools of engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, philosophy and the arts.

Founded in 1949 as Shenyang Electromechanical College, the university was renamed Shenyang University of Technology in 1985. 

Across 1.59 million square meters, including a building area of 742,700 sq m, the university has 20 colleges, two teaching departments and two engineering training centers. It provides 53 undergraduate majors and 18 majors in professional training.

The university currently has 19,072 undergraduate students, 2,807 postgraduate students, 283 doctoral students and 221 foreign students enrolled.

There are 1,308 faculty members, including two academicians, 185 professors, 406 associate professors, 97 doctoral tutors and 488 master instructors. Teachers with doctoral degrees accounted for 33.9 percent of the total number, and those with either master’s or doctoral degrees accounted for 85.9 percent.

Shenyang University of Technology offers one national key second-class discipline (electrical machines and electrical apparatus) and four first-class disciplines (electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and instrument science and technology).

The university has also cultivated long-term cooperation with 49 international universities and colleges in such countries as the United States, Russia, Japan, Germany and Australia.
