Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute

Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute (YPI) covers an area of about 556,000 square meters with a floor space of 303,000 sq m. YPI trains mainly three-year and full-time higher vocational students, the number of the enrolled students amounts over 10,000. YPI employs over 600 staff and faculty members. The teaching faculty of YPI has become more diversified and internationalized, and is continually becoming a highly competent teaching and studying team. More than 80 percent of the core professional teachers have overseas study experience, international vision and advanced vocational education ideas. 

YPI has 11 departments focusing on various academic subjects such as chemical engineering, architectural engineering, mechanical and automotive engineering, electrical and information engineering, business management, architecture and art design, fundamental science, social science, physical education, further education, and overseas education. 

With petrochemical and architecture (including Nuclear Power Construction) as characteristic specialties, YPI runs totally 32 different majors in Machinery Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Information Engineering, Business Management and Art. The institute now has 219 course practice centers and 231 off-campus practice bases. 

Having advantages in education and scientific research conditions including National Training Bases and also well-equipped sports and cultural facilities, YPI provides a favorable platform training students into high-quality vocational personnel with firm theoretical knowledge and practical ability of technology. 

YPI has established friendly and cooperative relations with 43 overseas colleges and universities in America, France, Australia, Britain, Singapore, Korea, ASEAN countries and Taiwan area. YPI and the partner colleges carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation through the teachers' exchange visits and mutual recognition of students' credits. Every year, YPI sends excellent students to partner colleges for study and research, and in turn enrolls international students from all over the world.
