Stone bun (石子馍/Shi Zi Mo) is a kind of Chinese-style baked roll with a long and profound history. It is often found in Lingbao county and Lushi county in Sanmenxia, Henan province. It is made of flour, lard, vegetable oil, salt, pepper, Chinese prickly ash and more. Locals have a unique way of making it, baking it on special stones, giving it a rough texture and a great flavor.
