In 2016, the aggregate income of Yangzhou's science and technology service industry reached 7.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3 percent. In 2017, 9 provincial engineering and technology research centers, 46 provincial graduate workstations and one provincial academician workstation were approved. The number of the city's science and technology service institutions has broken through 2000. 

With promotion and implementation of various scientific and education cooperation, Yangzhou settled 505 industry-university-research programs, developed 155 school enterprise alliances, and gained 54 new major programs of science and education cooperation. 

The research institute of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications is located in Guangling district.
