Wuxi appeared at the 52nd Internationale Tourismus Boerse (ITB) Berlin in Germany, which is a grand convention attended by representatives ffrom a number of global cities hoping to promote their respective cities and attract tourists.

Wuxi, along with some other Chinese cities, had a booth at the convention, displaying beautiful views of Taihu Lake and the historic architecture of Huishan Ancient Town.

This is the ninth straight year that Wuxi has sent representatives to the German capital to attend the ITB, the world's largest tourism trade fair.

The tourism bureau's booth attracted 1,000 visitors on the first day of the show, and it signed a pair of deals with overseas tour operators to cooperate on tourism exchanges.

The Wuxi delegation launched a new English language travel brochure and guide map, as well as several one and two-day travel routes involving famous scenic spots in Wuxi, such as the ancient town and Turtle Head Isle.

Germany has become China's largest source of tourists from Europe. A total of 634,100 Germans visited China in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 1.8 percent.

According to Wuxi Cultural and Tourism Development Group, foreign travelers made more than 100,000 trips to Wuxi's scenic spots in 2017, representing a steady increase in foreign tourism due in part to the city's years of participation in the tourism fair.
