Spring Festival travel rush concludes

The 40-day Spring Festival travel rush concluded on March 12. During this period of time, the city of Guangzhou served 30-million passengers. The highest single-day volume, 552,000 passengers, was seen at Guangzhou South Railway Station on March 4, which is nearly double the capacity of what the railway station was designed to accommodate.

The good news however, is that no major traffic accidents or serious delays occurred. Guangzhou possesses a recently upgraded traffic analysis system which provides perfect traffic coordination solutions based on big data and artificial intelligence.

At the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, arriving passengers spent an average of 10 minutes waiting to board a taxi, which created a new record of the shortest waiting time amongst all domestic airports in China.
