One hundred and sixty electric buses will hit the roads in Nanyang, Henan province, bringing great convenience to bus drivers, operators and passengers with a new smart design and equipment.

Manufactured by Anhui-based Xingkailong Coach Co Ltd, the electric buses differ from traditional buses in that they have almost no environmental impact due to zero carbon emissions and minimal noise pollution.

In addition to ticketing machines which allow passengers to pay with a local transportation card or the China T-union card, the buses are also equipped with on-board intelligent devices which can be used for mileage recording, auto-reporter-calling and satellite positioning.

The buses also possess video surveillance systems that can store images captured by seven internal and external high-definition cameras for up to 10 days. This is useful when surveying road conditions and can also be used as evidence in accident investigations.

The addition of these new electric buses will not only ease the burden on the current public transportation system, but will also contribute to green development and environmental preservation in Nanyang.
