Fashion Week to demonstrate power of original design in Shenzhen

The 2018 Shenzhen Fashion Week, a platform for showcasing fashionable lifestyles, discovering and supporting emerging designers and integrating independent design with commercial brands, will begin in Shenzhen on March 13 and run until March 19.

The seven-day event will be held at Shenzhen's new cultural landmark – the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning. Visitors will be met with a fashion extravaganza of over 200 brands and designers from more than 10 countries staging nearly 80 shows. The spectacle will offer insight into global fashion trends as well as the integration of fashion and art. Over 10,000 professional buyers from home and abroad and more than 300 domestic and overseas media outlets are expected to attend.

The fashion week is organized by the Shenzhen municipal government and jointly hosted by the economy, trade and information commission of Shenzhen, Shenzhen Garment Industry Association and global fashion leader WME-IMG. The event has been held in Shenzhen for four consecutive years and will take place in the city's Futian district this year, an area boasting a wide range of leading fashion enterprises and a unique fashion industry cluster.

The showroom for the fashion week, which will cover an area of 2,000 square meters, will showcase great works created by over 100 famed designers from across the world and will offer a unique experience for visitors seeking to admire art and fashion.

The event will also host a series of fashion industry summits with the participation of industry leaders, famous designers and government officials who will discuss the development of the industrial cluster as well as the restructuring and upgrading of Futian's fashion industry.
