More than 2,200, or nearly 75%, of the 2,980 deputies attending the 13th National People's Congress are newly elected. A few of the six deputies from Wuxi are also attending the National People's Congress for the first time.

Ouyang Hua, Party secretary of Baita village in Yixing and a newly selected deputy for the 13th National People's Congress, vowed to bring awareness to the plight of vulnerable members of society.

Chen Jingyu, vice president of Wuxi People's Hospital and an experienced deputy for the National People's Congress, promoted the establishment of the green channel for organ transportation, which came to fruition in 2015. This year, Chen plans to submit proposals and suggestions regarding the treatment of pneumoconiosis patients.
