An artificial intelligent robot, made by a Xiamen-based sci-tech enterprise, was recently introduced to Hong Kong by the city's Federation of Youth Groups, Chinanews reported on March 2.

The incoming robot is the Xiamen enterprise Keeko's first product, Smart Cavalry -- aimed for children up to age six, and has already served as a teaching assistant in many Chinese mainland kindergartens.

"Smart Cavalry's strong performance and interactive capacities can help create more appealing teaching forms and improve children's interests in learning," said Chen Qixing, teacher of AI courses from HKFYG.

The federation has also cooperated with Keeko to launch a training course for certified instructors of early-childhood AI robots.

Chen said that the course includes introduction to the robot's basic structure and performance parameters, professional skills in developing the functions of AI robots, and activity planning based on AI robots.

Another product series, Smart Drip, made for child-bearing families, was launched last year by Keeko and enjoys great popularity.

Founded in 1960, HKFYG is a large scale non-profit organization in Hong Kong, offering activities and facilities for the physical, social, educational, and cultural development of Hong Kong's youth.
