Faku county in Shenyang signed six deals with ceramics businesses in Wenzhou, East China’s Zhejiang province, thanks to efforts made by Faku Economic Development Zone to promote its marketing channels and expand ceramics exports.

The deals were signed at a promotion meeting held in Wenzhou on Feb 24, attracting the attendance of around 200 business representatives from the city.

Businesses in Wenzhou have accumulated rich experience in exporting goods to overseas markets. Cooperating with Wenzhou businesses is expected to help Faku’s ceramics industry to expand exports.

Faku, which is in Lioaning province and is known as “China's Ceramic Valley”, has been developing a ceramics industry since 2002. Over more than 16 years, the ceramics sector has gradually become the leading industry in the development of Faku's economy, and the county has already established its own industrial park, which is home to around 250 businesses.

The park mainly undertakes the research, production and sale of architectural ceramics and artistic ceramics.

At present, Faku industrial park has around 1,000 ceramic brands and 12 categories of ceramic products, and a complete industrial chain has taken shape. It’s currently the largest ceramics industry cluster in Northeast China.

In 2017, the gross ceramics industrial output value of the county reached 7.05 billion yuan ($1.11b); and the export value exceeded $100 million, with customers from over 20 countries and regions, according to information released by Faku Economic Development Zone on Jan 25.

The ceramics industry has become one of the pillar industries of Faku county.

To further expand its ceramics industry and attract more investment, Faku county has taken a list of measures to create a better business environment starting in the second half of 2017. The actions conducted over a half-year period include establishing 34 business promotion bureaus and six service centers.

"Faku county is a great place to start a business,” said a businessman surnamed Huang, who has operated a ceramics business in the county for 11 years.

"I will put additional investment into Faku’s ceramics sector in the following years,” he added.

Huang claims to have made the decision due to the preferential policies introduced by the local government and expects a better business environment in the future.
