Jiuyuan district wins 5b-yuan glycol project

Jiuyuan district in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was recently awarded a glycol project worth 5 billion yuan ($787 million), according to a report in Baotou Daily on Feb 12.

Shenhua Group – a coal-based multinational energy company engaged in power generation, coal-to-liquid and coal chemicals with integrated production transportation and sales operations – will fund the project.

The project will include a glycol production line which is expected to produce 600,000 tons of glycol annually. Work on the project is scheduled to begin in June at Jiuyuan Industrial Park, with completion expected by 2019.

Annual revenue from the completed project is expected to reach 3 billion yuan.
