Nanyang Airport helps thousands get home during Spring Festival rush

Over 18,000 passengers travelled through Nanyang Airport during the Spring Festival holiday period from Feb 15 to 21. This 13 percent increase in throughput saw the commuters travel on 178 flights to and from the airport.

Affected by heavy fog, flights from Shenzhen and Guangzhou heading for Nanyang as well as those departing from Nanyang for Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Guangzhou were delayed on the morning of Feb 22.

As return trips reached their peak from Feb 21 to 27, plane tickets during this seven-day period from Nanyang to hot destinations such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai have been almost sold out. Only a few tickets are left for dates after Feb 25.
