Wuxi residents enjoy a festive Spring Festival

Residents of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, enjoyed a festive Spring Festival as various activities were held during the holiday period from Feb 15 to 21.

More than 200 Spring Festival activities were held by local authorities around the city.

Each scenic spot also organized cultural folk activities, such as praying for good fortune, flower shows, and garden parties, which attracted approximately one million visitors. The video Civilized Wuxi, Thanks to You also played at tourist sites to promote the city.

In addition, cultural sites around the city arranged special activities for young people, such as reading classics and sampling folk culture.

The Wuxi Museum arranged an activity that allowed young people to try their hands at woodblock printing. Handcraft masters were also invited to show off their folk arts and crafts, giving young people a taste of traditional culture.

During the Spring Festival holiday, volunteers in red waistcoats could also be seen on the streets, at scenic spots, and in other public areas. They selflessly gave up some of their own time in order to serve the people.

Approximately 400 volunteers in Liangxi district served as guides at scenic spots and arranged free clinic and paper-cutting activities, delivered Spring Festival couplets, and played classic movies, making the holiday season even more warm and festive.
