Third-generation electronic bus stop boards for public transport systems were implemented in Wuxi in February, 2018.

The new electronic boards show detailed information about coming buses. Moreover, each board has one color screen showing city advertisements.

Citizens can also recharge their bus cards by following the directions on the board and scanning a QR code to download the recharging app. The app will ask you to pay with your mobile phone and then put your bus card on the sensor for about 20 seconds until you hear a voice and see the word "success" on the board's screen.

Over 20 new electronic bus stop boards have been set up in the city, including ones at People's Hospital Station, Chong'an Temple Station, Zhongshan Road Station and Renmin Road Station.

The new electronic boards will add more functions in the future, such as emergency announcements, bus route information, and even weather broadcasts.
