Pandora, an animated series produced by Xiamen-based Skyloong Media Co, is to make its debut on March 29 on Netflix, the largest pay-for-view video website in the world, according to a recent announcement by Skyloong.

Pandora will be broadcast globally in eight languages including Chinese, Japanese and English, reaching an audience of billions.

Ye Haojun, general manager of Skyloong and producer of Pandora, said that the animated series was planned and invested by Chinese enterprises and created based on Chinese culture.

Therefore, as China's first animated sci-fi series purchased by Netflix, it is expected to be of great significance in spreading Chinese culture and establishing Chinese animation brands around the world.

Top creators from Japan, including Satelight, a renowned animation studio and Shoji Kawamori, a famous anime director, helped create the animation.

The integration of Chinese culture and Japanese creators is the highlight of the animation and is also one of the reasons for its overseas potential.

The general manager said that they will continue introducing more top anime talents from Japan to Xiamen to cultivate China's own animation talents and produce excellent native animated series.
