The Bird Nest Super Direct Current (DC) Charging Station on Dushi Road, which can charge 200 buses simultaneously, began operation on Feb 7 amidst great excitement.

With 64 charging piles in a 10,000-square-meter area, it is the largest charging station in all of Nanyang. The station provides services not only for Nanyang electric buses, but also for other civilian new energy electric vehicles as well.

In order to further promote green public transportation, Nanyang Public Transportation Corporation and Beijing Jinguan Huadian Science & Technology jointly established Nanyang Jinguan Public Transportation Charging Service Company in 2017 to oversee the charging station construction.

Work on the Bird Nest Super DC project began last December, and was promptly completed just three months later on Feb 6.

This is one of the two super charging stations have been built in the central urban area so far, as the other is equipped with 14 charging piles and was put into service on Jan 21. Construction on a third charging station is underway, with 45 charging piles to be erected by the end of March.
