With the approach of Chinese Spring Festival, the 40-day chunyun –– the Chinese word to describe the travel rush as people start to return to their hometowns for New Year –– started on Feb 1.

Across the nation, it is anticipated that around 2.98 billion passenger trips will be made during the travel rush around Spring Festival, which falls on Feb 16 this year.

Shenyang railway stations also experienced heavy passenger flow on the first day of chunyun.

This year, the railway stations have vowed to provide a better travel experience for passengers with upgraded facilities, advanced technology and convenient services.
