If you're looking to experience a Beijing-style Spring Festival in the city of Guangzhou, you might want to pay a visit to Zhengjia Square, where temple fairs are being held in both the Guangzhou and Beijing traditions.

The celebrations, which will last until March 2, are taking place on the fourth floor of Zhengjia Square. The Beijing-themed fair covers an area of 300 square meters and features diabolo performances, traditional Beijing acrobatics Shuazhongfan, and Peking Opera shows. More than 10 folk artists from Beijing have also been invited to the square to showcase their unique talents in creating Chinese knots, kites, paper-cutting works, clay figures, and colorful sand paintings.

The Guangzhou-themed fair is being held on the fifth floor, with a series of artworks depicting Cantonese culture. It will also feature demonstrations from various masters in the arts of Guangcai ceramics, Guangxiu embroidery, wood carving, and jade sculpture.

According to insiders, temple fairs such as those are designed to promote the "Guangzheng Street" project, which is situated on the fifth floor of Zhengjia Square and aims to stimulate the development of commerce, tourism, and culture in the square. The new project is expected to be completed by June this year and will offer visitors a glimpse into old Guangzhou, including qilou (arcade houses), business boats of the Thirteen Hongs (the sole legal site of most Western trade with China from 1757 to 1842) and old-style private banks.

Lantern shows from Zigong, Sichuan province will also add to the excitement, with some of the dog-shaped lights reaching 6 meters in height.
