Nanyang's import-export volume reaches 13.12 billion yuan in 2017

According to statistics from the Nanyang Commerce Bureau, the city's total import-export volume reached 13.12 billion yuan ($2.08 billion) in 2017, ranking fourth in Henan province.

Export value increased by 20 percent to reach 10.82 billion yuan in the last year, while import value grew by 37.1 percent to reach 2.3 billion yuan.

Nanyang's general trade import-export value grew by 24.1 percent to 11.94 billion in 2017, with processed export volume dropping slightly to 970 million yuan. The import-export amount of other trade forms totaled 200 million yuan, accounting for 1.5 percent of the total.

From an enterprise property prospective, the private enterprise volumes experienced a sharp increase of 33.8 percent to 10.41 billion yuan, while on the other end state-owned enterprises and foreign-funded ones saw drops of 12.9 and 0.8 percent to 1.33 billion and 1.37 billion yuan respectively.

Agricultural products were the most popular category of goods for the international market, generating 6.93 billion-yuan worth of sales in 2017 which accounted for 64.1 percent of the total export value. Mechanical and electronical products and textiles came in second and third respectively, each taking up 15.4 and 5.5 percent.

Asia, Europe and North America were Nanyang's main export markets in 2017, registering an export value of 8.53 billion, 980 million and 940 million yuan respectively.
