Wuxi expected to lead the way in high quality development

Lou Qinjian, Party secretary of Jiangsu province, attended the First Session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress – Wuxi delegation on Jan 28.

Wuxi Municipal Party secretary Li Xiaomin presided over the meeting. Xu Zhongzi, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, Xu Jinrong, vice chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, and Lyu Zhenlin, secretary general of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, also attended the meeting.

Lou stressed that Wuxi is expected to play a leading role in exploring how to achieve basic modernization, continuing reform and opening up, and pursuing high quality development.

Wuxi delegations expressed their thoughts on the Wuxi government report and the work report of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress. They also discussed their ideas for attracting more talent to rural areas, increasing scientific and technological innovation, and strengthening the quality of teachers.

Lou affirmed Wuxi's recent achievements, saying "Wuxi has reached a GDP of one trillion yuan and has made great progress in improving water quality in recent years."

Lou also said that efforts should be made to promote exploratory development, to closely monitor the situations both at home and abroad, and to actively explore ways to achieve basic modernization by building an all-around prosperous society.

When discussing the IoT industry, Lou said that enterprises should master core technology and develop demonstration projects to take full advantage of electronics in industry and economy.

Lou believes that Wuxi will be at the forefront of increasing Jiangsu's competitiveness and promoting high quality development in the province.
