Harbin’s youth ice hockey team receives gala invitation

The ice hockey team of Xinhua Primary School in Harbin received an invitation from the General Administration of Sport to record a New Year gala, which will be broadcast on the third day of the Chinese Spring Festival holiday (it falls on Feb 18 this year).

The New Year Gala is the first of its kind that aims to promote sports and the arts. 

In addition to Harbin’s ice hockey team, the soccer team from Hainan Qiongzhong Middle School, students from the Eight Primary School of Xixia district in Yinchuan and the Fourth Middle School of Hetian in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region will also attend the gala at the invitation of its sponsor –– the General Administration of Sport.

A farewell party for Xinhua Primary School’s ice hockey team was held on Jan 17, to send the team off to the gala with the school’s best wishes. 

Established 17 years ago, the team enjoys a good reputation after winning many domestic ice hockey competitions.
