The 23rd Harbin International Snow Sculpture Competition concluded at Sun Island on Jan 13, as part of a series of promotion activities aimed at the 34th Harbin Ice and Snow Festival and the annual snow expo.

The four-day event, which is among the highest level in snow sculpture competitions, attracted 25 teams from 17 countries to compete in Harbin, including from Spain, Japan, New Zealand, the UK, United States, and Russia. Artists had to carve sculptures on snow blocks measuring at least 36 cubic meters.

Six prizes were set aside for teams that achieved the best results.

The annual snow sculpture competition has become an ideal platform to promote Harbin’s ice and snow tourism.
