Snow-clearing sanitation worker warm hearts in Ordos

A photo of a female sanitation worker kneeling down to shovel snow in Ordos has gone viral online, according to a recent news release.

The moment was captured by a pedestrian who saw the sanitation worker kneeling down to shovel snow carefully, on an icy road, in Otog Front Banner, Ordos.

The pedestrian posted the photo on WeChat, attracting many likes from her friends. Many commented that they were touched by the dedication of the sanitation worker.

The woman, named Lu Xiufen, said during an interview that it was more convenient for her to kneel to clear the snow when asked why she did that.

Local authorities told reporters that they had used machinery and snow-melting agent to clear the snow, but some parts of the road were still covered by snow. Therefore, manual labor was needed to help clear it.

After the photo went viral, many people expressed concern about the living condition of sanitation workers’ and called on the public to show more respect for them.
