Baidu makes channel to show Wuxi's beauty

The opening ceremony of the first "See the Beauty of Wuxi in Baidu" event was held in Wuxi, east China's Jiangsu province on Jan 11.

The Internet giant Baidu will use artificial intelligence and big data technology to connect science technology to culture and humanity, aiming to make people see the beauty of Wuxi from all kinds of perspectives.

Baidu has cooperated with over 30 cities in China to carry out the "See the Beauty of China in Baidu" event since Nov, 2017, which is designed to show the unique disposition of each city in citizens' view in online and offline ways.

"Technology changes our life and our life promotes the development of technology. Alpha Go, Internet of things and artificial intelligence has become hot issues since last year. Baidu will continue to find out the characteristic of each city under their similar modern appearances," said Dong Ronghua, manager of east China's channel department of Baidu.

"The event can both show the traditional charm of Wuxi as a Jiangnan Water City and the rapid development of modern industries. The Wuxi government hopes the event will act as an important channel for people around the world to get to know the beauty of Wuxi," said Cai Wenyu, vice director of the Wuxi municipal Party committee propaganda department.

The "See the Beauty of Wuxi in Baidu" event will solicit photos of Wuxi from citizens online and organize offline tourism event to encourage citizens to travel through Wuxi, Jiangyin and Yixing.
