Final whistle blown on 2017 Zhanjiang football season

Leizhou Huazhi Football Club has topped the 2017 Zhanjiang Football Association Super League after the season came to an end at Xiashan Sports Center on Dec 30.

This result is no surprise for the talented team that dominated its opponents in the league's first four rounds before advancing to the final game with a significant advantage.

In the final match, Leizhou Huazhi's players sprinted out of the blocks to build a comfortable 3-0 lead before half time.

The opposing team, Lianjiang Duanjian Football, didn't give away the game easily however, drawing level at 3-3 before the final whistle.

Hosted by Zhanjiang Football Association and Zhanjiang Daily, Zhanjiang Football Association Super League is city's highest level football competition.

Serving as a year-end showdown, this year's match saw a total of six local football clubs taking part. Zhanjiang Henghui and Wanzhong Weiling took the second and third places respectively.
