Xikou-Tengtou Tourist Area

Xikou-Tengtou Tourist Area (溪口-滕头旅游景区) is located at about 30 kilometers away from the downtown area of Ningbo, Zhejiang province. It was listed as a 5A-level tourist spot in 2010, the highest level recognized by China's National Tourism Administration.

Before being united as a tourist area in 2007, Xikou town and Tengtou village were two separate scenic spots covering a total area of 2 square kilometers.

Xikou town is the hometown of Chiang Kai-shek, the Chinese military and political leader who led the Kuomintang for five decades. Chiang's residences, which are all traditional Chinese-style houses, including Fenggao House (丰镐房), where he was born, are well maintained.

Tengtou Village, arguably the best village of China, is worth a visit to discover its rustic and environmentally friendly atmosphere and to get a taste of the bucolic life. The well-preserved stone windows, furniture and local relics dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) are the main draws to the village.

Besides former residences of Chiang Kai-shek and rustic sceneries, Xuedou Mountain in the Xikou-Tengtou Tourist Area is also worth a visit.

The best time to visit Xikou-Tengtou Tourist Area is from June to August. Most of the scenic spots open from 8 am to 5 pm. Tourists can take a bus or coach at Ningbo South Bus Station to the tourist area. The price of a coupon ticket is 260 yuan ($39) per person.
