Contracts worth 1.1b yuan signed at investment conference

An autonomous region-level investment promotion conference targeting small and medium-sized companies was held in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Dec 10, reports Baotou Daily.

A total of 1,116 companies attended the conference, among which, 178 were based in Baotou. The companies cover areas including equipment manufacturing, modern agriculture, advanced technology, tourism and education.

The conference witnessed the signing of cooperation contracts worth 1.104 billion yuan ($167 million).

Baotou, the frontrunner in regional economic development, ranks first in the autonomous region in terms of the number of large-scale companies. Small and medium-sized companies have enjoyed a boom in the city over the past few years. The conference is expected to boost development of the companies and contribute to the regional economy.
