Hundreds of swans have been seen around Honghaizi Wetland Park located in Ejin Horoo Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, since early December, according to reports by local media organizations.

Ejin Horoo has long been a place for migratory birds to spend the winter, but it is still rare to see swans in such large numbers in the area.

Thanks to efforts made by the local government in recent years to restore the ecological environment in the park, and the increasing awareness of local residents regarding the importance of protecting wildlife –– a growing number of rare birds such as herons, spoonbills and terns have started to visit the area.

Police officers from Ejin Horoo forest public security bureau will enhance patrols in the wetland area to ensure that the birds are not disturbed by members of the public.
