Mentally disabled children show their talent

"Love, Together" public welfare event was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Dec 2.

The "Love, Together" public welfare event was held to welcome the 26th International Day of Disabled Persons in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on the afternoon of Dec 2.

Organized by the Wuxi Liangxi district mental disabilities support center, the event gathered 50 mentally disabled children and their families from Wuxi, Nanjing, Shanghai and Henan province to allow challenged children to show their talents and give their gratitude to the society.

During the two-hour event, these children performed various programs, including singing, dancing, and musicals. Some of their parents gathered to recite "Love forever" to show their love towards their children.

Wuxi Liangxi district mental disabilities support center has been set up for five years. They have organized 35 events to help over 1,400 mentally disabled children to open up to the society.

Ji Hongmei, manager of Wuxi Liangxi district mental disabilities support center, compared the center to a bridge which connects the challenged children to the society. They will continue to call on the society to pay more attention to the mentally disabled children.

During the event, two projects to help mentally disabled children learn arts and achieve employment were also signed. These children will be able to achieve their dreams and fully participate in the society.
