Guangzhou to embrace great development opportunity

"Holding a forward position among Chinese peers in terms of opening to the world, many Guangzhou practices have been promoted across the country," Li Chuyuan said.

"Participating in the forum gives Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings access to the forefront and allow more global enterprises to get to know our company. It will facilitate more projects to settle down in the city," he added. 

Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings is expected to hit 100 billion yuan ($15.12 billion) in sales volume this year and the figure is anticipated to reach 150 billion in 2020 and to add the Guangzhou enterprise's name to the Fortune Global 500 list.

Availing itself of the forum effects, Guangzhou will promote its image around the world which will in return boost Guangzhou-based enterprises to play their part in the global context, according to Zhang Zhaoxing, chairman of Yuexiu Financial Holdings.

"The openness of Guangzhou should be in line with national strategy," Zhang noted when talking about innovative development in Guangzhou. "It will bring better results to work under the framework of national strategies and initiatives, including the Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative."
