Jinyuan Cultural Tourism Area, a nationally protected area home to many relics, is located in Acheng district, Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang province. As the only well-preserved ruin of the capital of the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234), the area was designated a national 4A-grade scenic site in 2001. Visitors to the area can not only enjoy the palace architecture and Meridian Gate, but also the well-preserved defensive wall, barbican, turrets and moat. The site has eight exhibition halls housing such relics as the imperial mausoleum, a bronze mirror, paintings and calligraphy, as well as information on capital's history, economic and cultural development, and the imperial site.
