Approved by the State Council in 1992, Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is the only one of China’s 53 national high-tech zones dedicated to the rare earth industry, and is the only national-level high-tech zone in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The zone focuses on areas including the rare earth industry, non-ferrous metals and high-end equipment manufacturing.

Selected as a development zone for high-value investments at the China Development Zones Investment Promotion Conference’s fourth session in Beijing on Nov 10, the district marked new progress this year in its development.
