British Council China Scholarship

The British Council in China is offering scholarships as part of Generation UK, a campaign to encourage and support UK student mobility to China. The British Council China Scholarship is for UK students (British passport holders, or Irish passport holders for Northern Ireland domiciled) to undertake a period of study at a university in the People's Republic of China.

Criteria for Eligibility

Applicants must be:

1.UK citizens (British passport holders, or Irish passport holders for Northern Ireland domiciled)

2.Enrolled at a UK institution at the point of application or a recent graduate (applying within one year of your graduation date)

3.At least 18 years old

Application Guide

Applications for the British Council China Scholarship should be submitted online and application materials should be sent via post. Please refer to the following steps detailing how to apply:

Step 1: Complete a British Council China Scholarship Application Form online.

Step 2: Register an account. Once registered, log in and read the instructions on the home page. Internet Explorer（11.0）or Firefox is recommended for browser compatibility.

Step 3:  Choose the category of the Scholarship and fill in the agency number. For the British Council China Scholarship, scholarship category is A, the Agency No. is 8264.

Step 4: Fill out all details required and ensure that information is truthful and accurate. Upload the scanning copy of the supporting documents.

Step 5: Preview the application form after finishing and submit it online.

Step 6: Print two copies of the application form.

Step 7: Prepare two copies of each application form and supporting document required and send the full package of application documents to the China Scholarship Council (application documents will not be returned)

Please send the following documents to the China Scholarship Council:

1.Printed British Council China Scholarship application form

2.Printed CSC application form

3.Certificates of your highest qualification gained (e.g. degree or A-Level certificates)

4.Most recent academic transcripts (or degree certificate)

5.Two academic references (referees should be from your current university)

6.A personal statement/study plan (500 words)

Two photocopies of each document above should be forwarded to the China Scholarship Council at the address above by April 17th, 2017. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
