2017 Lushun Apple Festival opens

In order to effectively increase farmers' income, build the agriculture tourism brand and share the achievements made in modern agriculture development, on October 31, the 2017 Lushun Apple Festival opened at Changcheng Street of Lushunkou District. The district leaders and municipal directors attended the opening ceremony.

Chi Junpeng, director of the administrative committee of Lushun Taiyanggou Cultural Industry Park said in his speech that Lushunkou District had long enjoyed the reputation of "the home of apple". With a 110-year cultivation history, Lushun apple enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad. The apple trees cover an area of 8,000 mu, with an annual output of 24,000 tons. The high-quality apples have brought considerable economic benefits to growers.

The festival aims to broaden the three-dimensional sales network of agricultural production and increase the income of peasants. With the theme of "rich Lushunkou with golden autumnal fragrance", taking the "Tourism + Agriculture" as the carrier, the festival relies on Lushun's abundant agricultural resources to realize the integration of industries such as leisure agriculture, green ecology, special culture and rural tourism experience. It also creates special celebrating activities combining agriculture, ecology, culture and tourism together in order to introduce and promote organic agriculture, show the vitality of urban development and further improve the district's image and influences.

This year's festival contains six boutique orchards such as Fulian garden and Wuyidi orchard.
