Nanyang students win big at Lan Qiao Cup

Huang Zhenyu and Li Zhaoqiang, two students from Nanyang Institute of Technology, won the first prizes at the 2017 Lan Qiao International Collegiate Programming Contest held at Princeton University, in the United States from Oct 21 to 22.

As the largest professional computer contest in China, the Lan Qiao Cup has been held eight times since 2010. With more than 1,200 universities selecting their outstanding students to attend the contest, the total number of participants for the past eight years exceeds 20 million people.

This year's competition went global and took place in the US, aiming to utilize the international advantageous resources and promote a platform for IT students all over the world to exchange ideas and pit their skills against each other.

All 50 contestants, including those from Peking University, Tsinghua University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, were faced with an overall investigation of their abilities in programming, date structure and innovation.

Huang Zhenyu and Li Zhaoqiang, who landed the first prize in the national finals to be qualified for the international contest, continued their success and ranked among the top 10 first prize winners along with students from world-class universities.
