100 large firms land in Guangzhou in first three quarters

More than 100 large companies with individual registered capital of more than 1 billion yuan ($150 million) settled down in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou in the first three quarters of this year, local media outlet southcn.com reports on Oct 25.

In the first three quarters, nearly 150,000 enterprises registered in Guangzhou with registered capital surpassing 1.15 trillion yuan, an increase of 110 percent over the same period last year. The total number of large-sized enterprises (with registered capital over 1 billion yuan) reached 101, up 83.6 percent year-on-year and the number for medium-sized enterprises (with register capital between 100 million yuan to 1 billion yuan) increased to 994, up 57 percent year-on-year.

A total of 1,095 companies with registered capital of more than 100 million yuan settled in Guangzhou during the first three quarters, among which 483 are commercial and rental services providers and 155 are financial enterprises.

The leasing industry, with aircraft leasing being its main part, has boomed during the first three quarters. As of now, a total of 17 aircraft have been leased to Guangzhou, with a contract value of $1.2 billion, up 65 percent compared with same period last year.
