Qian Haifeng, a photographer from Wuxi, Jiangsu province, exhibited his work in France for the first time recently by taking part in a group exhibition in Mérignac.

The works by Qian included in the show are taken from his award-winning Green Trains series, which depicts scenes on China's old rail network, whose trains are famously painted dark green with a yellow stripe running along the carriages.

Qian makes his living as an electrician at Wuxi Grand Hotel, and has been shooting photos of life on China's green trains for more than ten years.

Green Trains previously received a prize at the 2015 International Photography Festival in Lianzhou, China.

François Cheval, curator of Nicephore Niepce Photography Museum in France, is an admirer of Qian's works and invited him to take part in the photo exhibition in Mérignac.

Qian's 36 photos stood out among the 13 series of works included in the show, and attracted the French photography community and the local media.

The mayor of Mérignac, Alain Anziani, praised Qian's works and said that the exhibition of his work offered a good chance for French people to enjoy Chinese photography.
